A sea monster lurks below…
4/17/2026 – The Monster of the Sea
What happens during the raging storm?
On a 1-2: Finny’s newly learned knots slip under the strain. A sail tears free and chaos erupts on deck.
On a 3-4: Captain Salt is nearly tossed overboard by a massive wave. Finny has to act fast to help her.
On a 5-6: A lightning strike hits the mast and snaps it in half, sending sparks and debris flying across the deck.
Finnley rolled a 1.
The knots Finny tied started to loosen. The sail slipped free and began to be ravaged by the storm. It ripped and tore wildly. The waves turned the ocean into chaos, throwing the ship in an uncontrollable direction.
Captain Salt fights to keep the ship alive as Finnley holds on for dear life.
Which direction does the ship sail?
On a 1-2: The waves push the ship Southeast.
On a 3: The storm pushes the ship Southwest.
On a 4: The ship mindlessly travels further West.
On a 5-6: The ship goes Northwest.
They rolled a 4.
The raging storm sent the ship and its crew further West. Clearly not south toward the coastline known as the Jagged Teeth.
The storm raged into the night. Waves soaked the deck and the three crew members. When dawn finally broke and the sun rose over the horizon, the true damage of the storm was on full display.
The ship now had a torn sail and limited steering. It was at the mercy of the waves. Captain Salt, exhausted from battling the storm, tried her best to keep the ship on course. West was not the worst direction.
The rudder, the only way to steer the ship, was mostly at the mercy of the waves.
Which direction now?
On a 1-2: The ship sails West. On a 3-4: The ship sails Southwest. On a 5-6: The ship sails Southeast.
The party rolled a 3.
The ocean guided the ship and its crew Southwest. Captain Salt muttered into the wind, “The ship is at the mercy of the morning winds. Who knows where we will end up.”
“My knots didn’t hold and I failed the party…” Finny let out a sigh.
“Don’t beat yourself up, Finny. It was your first attempt. You’ll know to take it more seriously next time,” Lila said soothingly.
“I know but… I should’ve…”
Captain Salt suddenly barked, “Look alive! We have…”
What do they encounter?
On a 1-2: Pirates!
On a 3: Sea Monster!
On a 4: Hidden Island…
On a 5-6: Ship wreck with survivor.
They rolled a 3!
“SEA MONSTER!!!” Captain Salt screamed.
Captain Salt takes aim as chaos erupts on deck.
Finny looked around frantically for his sword. Lila, frightened, ran into the cabin while Captain Salt grabbed…
What does Captain Salt grab?
On a 1-3: She reaches for the Obsidian Dagger.
On a 4-5: She grabs a harpoon.
On a 6: She grabs her bow and knocks an arrow.
She rolled a 6.
Captain Salt readied her bow and arrow while shouting orders to Finny. “Steady your feet, boy! Be ready for anything!”
